Almighty God,
Just as You led Israel out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm,
we praise You for Your faithful presence in our lives.
On this first Sunday of Lent,
we come before You with all our hearts,
offering our worship and praise.
Please accept our worship with joy.
Lord, as Jesus overcame temptation in the wilderness,
help us also to resist the temptations of this world and follow You alone.
“Man shall not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
May our lives be built upon Your Word,
and may we earnestly seek Your will above all else.
Heavenly Father,
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.” (Psalm 91:14)
As You have promised,
we trust that You alone are our refuge and fortress in times of trouble.
We surrender our weaknesses to You,
asking You to guide us and grant us renewed strength.
Holy Spirit,
“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:10)
May we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths
that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Help us to understand the depth of Christ’s love on the cross
and the power of His resurrection.
Give us unwavering faith,
so that we may rely on You alone in all circumstances.
Lord, may You receive the worship of Your Church with joy today,
and may this Lenten season deepen our faith and devotion.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
