“Living Water for a Thirsty Soul”
John 4:7–12
In John 4, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well—a surprising and powerful encounter. She came looking for water, but Jesus offered something far greater: living water.
Jesus breaks barriers. He speaks with someone whom society rejected—a Samaritan, a woman, an outsider. He shows us that God’s love is for everyone, no matter our background or past.
When Jesus speaks of “living water,” He’s not talking about what quenches physical thirst, but about the life that truly satisfies—eternal life through Him. The woman doesn’t understand at first, asking how He could offer such a thing without even a bucket. But Jesus gently points her to a deeper truth: He is greater than the well, greater than Jacob—He is the Savior.
Like the woman, we often chase temporary solutions to deeper needs. But Jesus invites us to receive the gift of God—His presence, His Spirit, His forgiveness.
Today, will you ask Him for living water? He offers it freely to all who are thirsty.
Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, we come to You thirsty. Fill us with Your living water. Quench the dryness in our hearts with Your grace. In Your name, Amen.
